This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Mount Riff Labs Inc. (“Mount Riff Labs”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the modelDBA website (“Website”) and software products provided by Mount Riff Labs (“Products”).

1. Collection of Information

We collect data for various reasons, such as:

a) To provide you with software, services, or information. We may collect data which are required to provide you with the software, support, and services, including checking for license validation and updates, provision of support, reporting of issues and bugs, and other processing connected with use of Mount Riff Labs software, services, or information. We may use collected data in our development and testing of products and services. The legal basis for this data processing is performance of contract between you and us.

b) To protect us from piracy and unlawful use of our software or services. We may collect data which are required to protect us from any piracy, unlawful, or unauthorized use of our software or services, or which are necessary to ensure security of our software or services, including both data provided by you (see above) and data collected in the course of use of Mount Riff Labs Products. The legal basis for this data processing is Mount Riff Labs’ legitimate interest in protection from piracy and unlawful use of Mount Riff Labs software and services.

c) To improve our offerings based on usage. We may collect data based on your use of Mount Riff Labs Products and services. We use these data to better understand the usage patterns of our products and the behaviors of our users. The legal basis for this data processing is our legitimate interest in improving our software and services.

d) To fulfil legal duties stipulated by accounting, taxation, and other laws. We may use and disclose your personal data where required by law, such as in keeping and disclosing our accounts, in keeping and disclosing our tax records, and in response to a court order, valid subpoena, or other legal process. The legal basis for this data processing is our compliance with our legal obligations.

The following data is not collected:

i) Information related to the connection of the Product to a database, such as usernames, passwords, server and port information.

ii) Information related to the contents of your databases, including database data and structure EXCEPT where explicitly provided by the User to Mount Riff Labs, such as during the provision of support services. Any such provided data will be deleted upon resolution of support requests.

3. Consent

When you provide us with your information to use the Website or Product, you consent to our collecting it and using it the reasons outlined above.

If Mount Riff Labs asks for your personal information for a secondary reason, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

4. Disclosure

We will share your Personal Information when required by law, regulation, or litigation, and as necessary for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance.

If we sell assets or are acquired by or merged with another entity, we may provide such entity customer information without obtaining your further consent. We may provide notice of such asset sales, acquisitions, or mergers on the Site.

5. Third Party Services

We may share your data with certain third parties which help us provide you with Mount Riff Labs Products or services, or to run our business, for example to providers of data storage and backup services. We may also share your data with individual representatives of your company.

Your personal data may also be shared with other organizations or individuals if we have obtained your consent to do so.

6. Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

7. Children

Our products and services are not designed for and are not offered to children under the age of 13. If we discover that a person under the age of 13 has submitted information directly to us, we will endeavor to delete the information from our systems.

8. Changes

This Privacy Policy is current as of the Effective Date set forth above. We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes to this Privacy Policy on the modelDBA website. If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy that materially affect our practices with regard to the personal information we have previously collected from you, we will endeavor to provide you with an advance notice of such change by highlighting the change on the modelDBA website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
